What's new in Pokémon TCG Online 2.74:
- Added support for the Pokémon TCG: Champion's Path expansion. This expansion will be available in the game on September 25 and will be legal for use in tournaments starting October 9. Champion's Path booster packs will not be available in the Shop.
- Battle Compressor (PHF #92): This card can no longer be played while there are 0 cards remaining in the deck.
- Black Market Prism Star (TEU #134): This card's effect is now properly applied if the {D} Pokémon with a {D} Energy attached is Knocked Out by damage from an attack that also has an effect which removes the attacking Pokémon from the Active Spot.
- Gardevoir (NXD #57, DEX #109): The match should no longer become non-responsive for both players after a player puts Gardevoir into play while they already have a Pokémon in play with an Ability that prevents effects of attacks done their Pokémon that have Energy attached, such as Espeon (DEX #48) or Magearna-EX (STS #75, 110).

The main purpose of the game is to battle other players or computer players, to level-up and become stronger, and to capture as many cards as possible.
Straightforward and legendary gameplay
The battles are staged in virtual turn-by-turn card game environments in which you and your opponent have one creature on the field at a time. Furthermore, you can also change it during your turn from a collection of five additional creatures.
Basically, you will have to provide energy cards to your Pokémons in order to make their attacks as efficient as possible. The cards can be used for a wide assortment of reasons like for gaining special powers, drawing extra cards or healing your Pokémon creatures in case of massive damage.
Evidently, the game is lost when your lead Pokémon is defeated and the rest of the Pokémon pack is lost during the match.

As far as features go, in principle, that’s all this game has to offer you, with luck playing an important role as in the case of many card games. The Pokémon themselves are mostly just attack units that inflict damage, without other spectacular abilities.
Regarding the quality of the graphics, let’s just say that Pokémon TCG Online isn’t the best looking of the bunch, with old school buttons and cartoonish-like attack animations. On the upside though, the digital cards manage to emulate the delightful look of the physical Pokémon cards.
